2011 Southeastern Conference of the American College Dance Festival at FSU

The Florida State University School of Dance will host the 2011 Southeastern Conference of the American College Dance Festival Association beginning on Saturday, March 5 and running through Tuesday, March 8, 2011. The conference will include adjudicated and informal concerts as well as a multitude of classes offered by faculty from throughout the region.

"The experience of taking master classes, viewing the concerts, and listening to the adjudicators' comments, as well as the energy exchange among dancers and faculty from other schools has always proven invaluable for our students," The experience of taking master classes, viewing the concerts, and listening to the adjudicators' comments, as well as the energy exchange among dancers and faculty from other schools has always proven invaluable for our students," said Jennifer Atkins, ACDFA Conference Coordinator and Assistant Professor of Dance.

Adjudicators for the 2011 conference are: Mary Cochran, Chair and Artistic Director of Dance at Barnard College of Columbia University; Zvi Gotheiner, Choreographer and Artistic Director of Zvidance; and Bebe Miller, Choreographer and Artistic Director of the Bebe Miller Company.

Guest teacher, Emily Johnson, and members of Catalyst Dance will present their work, The Thank You Bar, a blend of storytelling, dance and music. This is an intimate work and is limited to groups of no more than fifty at a time. The Thank You Bar will be presented eight times over the course of the conference.
